Celebrating the 15 Classic Massachusetts Thanksgiving Football Rivalries!
Massachusetts may be best known for Thanksgiving because the first celebration was held here in 1621. But today, nearly 400 years later, the storied high school football rivalries playing out across the state on the fourth Thursday of each November carry almost as much clout—especially for those of us who work, live and participate in the local communities.
This year Plymouth Rock is working with its independent insurance agents in 30 local communities having some of the oldest high school football rivalries in Massachusetts to bring an added element of excitement to this year’s Thanksgiving games. For every winning team of these storied rivalries, Plymouth Rock will make a $300 donation to each school’s chapter of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions). These donations will support the important work of SADD within the high school community and demonstrate our commitment to the local community and its independent insurance agents, as well as creating a culture of safe driving among drivers of all ages.
Today through next Wednesday, we’ll be building up to the big games with daily posts that overview all of the rivalries—including their histories, key notes for this year’s matchup, and where to catch the game. The full list of matchups is:
